Terms of use

By using CoWake, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service. Nothing here takes away rights that consumer law gives you.

CoWake is for people aged 13 and older. Where local law requires a parent's or guardian's permission, you must have it. The app requires an iPhone with iOS 26 or later.

Your account

You can start without signing in. CoWake creates an account behind the scenes to store your alarms, friendships, and profile. It isn't stored only on your phone.

Without Sign in with Apple, your device holds the credentials for that account. If you lose access to those credentials, there is no email or password you can use to recover it. Linking Sign in with Apple lets you access your account on another phone.

Keep your device secure and only use a name and picture you have the right to use.

Alarms and calls

Each person's phone schedules its own alarm. Join opens CoWake. A shared alarm leads to a video call, which ends after five minutes. Stop silences the current ring; up to four follow-up alarms can ring at one-minute intervals.

Completing the short in-app confirmation cancels the remaining follow-ups. Confirmation doesn't depend on a connection, your camera, or another person. A solo alarm is confirmed when you open it.

Alarms depend on your phone, its settings, and its battery. Calls also need an internet connection. CoWake cannot guarantee that every alarm will ring or every call will connect. Use a separate backup when missing an alarm could cause harm.

Invite links and codes expire after 24 hours. Accepting an invite adds a friendship and, when the invite includes an alarm, a place on that alarm. Share invites responsibly and don't use them to contact people who don't want to hear from you.

The person who creates an alarm is its host. The host can change or delete it. Deleting an alarm ends it for everyone on it.

Acceptable use

Don't use CoWake to:

  • Harass, threaten, bully, or discriminate against anyone.
  • Share sexual content, exploit children, or encourage violence or self-harm.
  • Impersonate someone or share content you don't have permission to use.
  • Spam, advertise on the feedback wall, or contact people against their wishes.
  • Access someone else's account, bypass limits, or disrupt the service.
  • Break the law.

Don't record other people without their permission. CoWake doesn't record calls, but it cannot prevent another participant from recording their screen.

Your content and feedback

Your pictures and writing remain yours. You allow CoWake to store and display them as needed to provide the service, such as showing your picture to friends or publishing your feedback post.

The feedback wall is public. Posts show no name, but are linked to an anonymous browser account for voting and moderation. Don't post private information there.

Suggestions may be used to improve CoWake without payment or a promise to build them. CoWake may remove content or restrict accounts that break these terms.

CoWake's software, name, and design belong to Giulio Orlandi or their respective licensors. Third-party software remains subject to its own licenses; see Credits.

Reports and blocking

You can block or report someone in the app and report posts on the feedback wall. Blocking takes effect immediately. Reports are reviewed manually; the service is not monitored continuously.

For safety concerns, email help@cowake.app. CoWake may remove content, restrict or close accounts, and respond to lawful requests from authorities.

Purchases and subscriptions

Solo alarms and alarms with two people are free. A subscription allows up to eight people on an alarm. Only one person on that alarm needs a subscription.

Apple handles purchases and billing. The app shows the price, billing period, and any offer conditions before you buy. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel them through your Apple Account subscription settings.

Cancel before the renewal date shown by Apple. You keep access for the period you've paid for. Refund requests are handled through Apple, subject to applicable consumer rights.

If a subscription expires, existing alarms keep ringing for their members. Adding people remains subject to the free limits. Deleting CoWake or your account does not cancel a subscription.

Leaving CoWake

You can request account deletion. For help with deletion or access to your account, email help@cowake.app. Account deletion and data retention are described in the Privacy policy.

CoWake may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or where required by law. Changes to these terms will be published here, with notice of significant changes before they take effect.

If you have a dispute, contact help@cowake.app. These terms do not restrict any right you have to seek a remedy under applicable law.

Read the Privacy policy for details about your data.
